The Panta Linae are a subfamily of libellulidae (Libellulidae) within the vial . They are synonymous with Trameinae ( Tillyard & Fraser 1940), both terms are currently in use.
features
Compared to the representatives of other subfamilies, the Pantalinae are mainly distinguished by specific features of the wing veins . The veins of the radial supplement sector (Rspl) and the median supplement sector (Mspl) in the fore and hind wings act like solid wing veins, which are separated by two to three rows of wing cells. In the hind wing, the anal field is also significantly widened and has a number of smaller wing cells on the anal vein, which gives the wing a characteristic triangular shape.
The representatives of the Pantalinae also have a very small thorax and an abdomen , which is significantly shorter than their wingspan. The eyes are also very large.
