Trancemission ( spelling : TRANCEMISSION , formerly TRANCE ) is considered to be the co-founder of German heavy metal in the 1980s and is one of the few bands from that time that is still active today.

prehistory

See article Trance (band) .

Start-up

It was not until 2002 that a reunion was attempted again. With a new line-up and again under the name Trancemission, Lothar Antoni, who wrote most of the band's successful rock classics, and Andreas Meyer went back to the studio. In January 2003 they produced the album Back in Trance II together with Joe J. Hagl on bass and Alex Franken on drums , which was praised by the trade press and again led to TV and radio appearances.

In August 2005, the follow-up album by Back in Trance II was recorded and released in October 2005 under the title Mine . In the following years this album received several very good reviews in various rock and metal magazines, which increased the awareness of the new formation more and more and in 2010 also brought with it the participation in one of the biggest rock festivals in Europe, "Rock of Ages" .

In 2011, for the band's 30th stage anniversary, a "30th Anniversary Tour" was carried out. There followed again TV and radio appearances. Several record companies were interested in the band. After the collaboration with "Harrie Smits" (ex- Helloween manager) began, negotiations with the record companies took place. In the end, the decision was made for Pure Steel Records and the recordings for the new album Naked Flames began . With the approval of the new record company, a limited edition (different selection of songs) of the new CD was pressed for the anniversary concert in December 2011, and was only sold at this concert. The official release date of the Naked Flames CD was set for July 2012. Songs from Naked Flames were presented live at the performance on August 11, 2012 at “Rock am Friedensdenkmal” Edenkoben .

In the course of 2014 the band interrupted the production of their new CD in order to record an anthem for Act4Aid (together against child poverty e.V.) and to publish it as an EP, which meant that the new CD was released from the end of summer / beginning of autumn 2014 Postponed spring 2015.

After a production time of over a year, the new CD Paranoia was released on October 9, 2015 .

In October 2017 Trancemission played at a festival in Landau in the Palatinate , this concert was recorded live. Daniel Antoni also played as a guest musician at this concert. At the beginning of 2018, the live recording was viewed and preparations began for the band's first live album. In the course of the year it was decided to include Daniel Antoni as a permanent member of the current lineup.

In October 2018, at a benefit concert in honor of the late Sensles singer Jürgen "Hille" Hillenbrand, the new live CD was released.
