Tranemo is a place ( tätort ) in the Swedish province of County of Västra Götaland and the historical province of Västergötland . It is also the capital of the municipality of the same name .
The place lies on the bank of the lake Tranemosjön named after the place . The name is composed of the Swedish word for crane “ trana ” and “ mo ”, a soil designation, and originally referred to the parish , from which the name was transferred to the place.
