Transgourmet Austria (until April 2016: C + C Pfeiffer ) is a supplier to the catering and hotel industry in Austria . The renamed company has been part of the Transgourmet Holding since the beginning of 2016 . According to its own statement, the company is the market leader in Austria in food wholesale for the catering trade with a share of 24.2%.

The company operates 9 Transgourmet stores, 4 Transgourmet Cash & Carry pick-up stores, a premium roastery operated under the name Javarei for the JAVA coffee brand and the wine and beverage wholesaler Transgourmet Trinkwerk.

In 2018, Transgourmet Austria achieved sales of 561 million euros, which corresponds to an increase in sales of 23 million euros compared to the previous year.

history

Headquarters in Traun

C + C Pfeiffer GmbH was part of the Pfeiffer Group until 2015 . In 1963 the first C + C store was opened in western Austria under the name SB Pfeiffer. In 1971 Pfeiffer took over the Dillinger company. In 1984 the name SB Pfeiffer changed to C + C Pfeiffer. At the same time, the company moved from Linz to Traun . In 1985 the C + C market took over the company FX Martin and in 1988 the company Werndl in Salzburg. The Wels and Graz locations were opened in 1991 and 1994 . With the opening of the Spielberg location in 1996, Pfeiffer further expanded its catering delivery service in Styria. In 1999 the Pfeiffer group of companies was restructured and C + C Pfeiffer was spun off as an independent GmbH. Since 2010, C + C Pfeiffer has been organizing the VINEUS Wine Culture Award , an award for people and businesses who do something outstanding for Austrian wine culture. The Salzburg location was opened in 2002 and the first cooking studio COOK2.0 was inaugurated. With the renovation at the Brunn am Gebirge site in 2005, the fifth cooking studio of C + C Pfeiffer GmbH opened. At the same time, J. Hornig and the Pfeiffer group of companies went on a common path. Since then, catering customers have been looked after and supplied by C + C Pfeiffer. In 2007, C + C Pfeiffer opened another location in the north of Vienna . In the first quarter of 2011, with the takeover of Eurogast Nussbaumer GmbH (2010 sales just under 37 million euros, 126 employees) as a wholly owned subsidiary, three further Styrian C + C stores in Graz, Bruck an der Mur and Feldbach were acquired. In November 2011, the eighth C + C Pfeiffer store opened in Villach.

In October 2012, C + C Pfeiffer presented the new TRINKWERK sales brand . The range includes 3300 national and international wines, 550 sparkling wines and 1500 spirits. In 2014, TRINKWERK organized the TRINKWERK PUR beverage trade fair for the first time. The fourth mein c + c store opened its doors on May 15, 2014: my c + c Südburgenland in Oberwart.

With effect from January 1 , 2016, the wholesale business C + C Pfeiffer was sold to Transgourmet Holding , a subsidiary of the Swiss trading company coop . The retail trade ( Nah & Frisch and Unimarkt ) remains in the possession of the Pfeiffer family. On April 4, 2016, C + C Pfeiffer was renamed Transgourmet Austria. At the same time as the transfer to the Swiss owner, the bankruptcy of the target point markets was settled and the chain was dissolved.

In 2017 Cook2.0 Exquisit, the premium range from Transgourmet, celebrated its 10th birthday.

From April 16 to 17, 2018, the first Transgourmet PUR took place as a two-day trade fair exclusively for gastronomy and the hotel industry with over 3,000 trade visitors in the Salzburg Exhibition Center. One month later, on May 17, 2018, the first Transgourmet store opened in Vorarlberg. Transgourmet Schwarzach is the ninth Transgourmet location in Austria.

In February 2019, Transgourmet took over the food wholesaler Gastro Profi GmbH, a specialist in ethnic gastronomy based in Alkoven. In June 2019 my c + c - Transgourmet's regional wholesale store was integrated into the Transgourmet Austria umbrella brand and renamed Transgourmet Cash & Carry. The VINEUS Wine Award (formerly VINEUS Wine Culture Award) was presented for the 10th time in June 2019 as part of a major anniversary gala in the METAHall in Vienna. The Transgourmet own brand of course for us celebrated its 10th anniversary in October 2019. On the occasion of the anniversary, we are of course now presented with a new design and can call itself Austria's first CO 2 -neutral organic brand.

In cooperation with several institutions and companies, Transgourmet makes its contribution to sustainability. The idea of ​​this cooperation is to create more awareness of the environment within the population. The pick-up wholesale market is continuing a trend and offering its customers a more environmentally friendly product range solution.

Bio Austria & Transgourmet

The cooperation with Bio Austria guarantees the selection of all organic products from the wholesale market. All Transgourmet locations have a valid organic certificate issued by SGS Austria Controll-Co. GmbH was issued. This proof ensures that the production of the organic products meets the following requirements:

  • Research and innovation
  • Fair prices
  • Organic farm food culture

They are lived in the daily work on the organic farms and form the basis for Bio Austria for a successful cooperation with all partners.

WWF & Transgourmet

Transgourmet says it contributes with its commitment to sustainable fishing and the preservation of biological diversity in the seas, which is supported by WWF . The idea of ​​sustainable fishing is to draw attention to the fact that the world's fish stocks are overfished or exploited to their limits. The cooperation includes the labeling of endangered fish as well as the increased marketing of " green fish ". With the help of the public media and training courses, awareness for species protection is increased.

The project focuses are:

  • Promotion of organic fish
  • Promotion of the marketing of MSC fish " Marine Stewardship Council " = non-threatened and controlled fish
  • Avoiding fish or seafood from illegal, unregulated, undeclared catches
  • Development of marketing tools for sustainable fishing to support the catering industry
