The TransnetBW GmbH (to 1 March 2012. TransnetBW AG ) is a German transmission system operators . The company is a 100% subsidiary of the EnBW group and has its headquarters in Stuttgart . The company's main control center is located in Wendlingen am Neckar .

German transmission network: control areas from Amprion , TenneT , TransnetBW and 50Hertz

TransnetBW operates the transmission network in Baden-Württemberg . The company's extra high voltage lines (380 and 220 kV ) are around 3,100 km long. The extra-high voltage network is connected to the regional distribution network (110 kV) via around 80 transformers . The TransnetBW network is connected to the national and European network via coupling points .

The TransnetBW control area borders within Germany on the networks of TenneT and Amprion and on the national borders with France and Switzerland on the areas of the local transmission system operators. International extra-high voltage interconnectors of the TransnetBW control area lead to France to Réseau de Transport d'Electricité (RTE), u. a. from Eichstetten to Muhlbach and to Sierentz and in Switzerland to Swissgrid from Kühmoos , Trossingen and Gurtweil to Laufenburg and from Kühmoos to Asphard .

TransnetBW is one of the four German companies in the Association of European Transmission System Operators (ENTSO-E).
