Trappola

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Trappola ( Italian trap), Hundertspiel or Bulka is a historical card game similar to the piquet for two, but mostly three or four people and is played with the so-called Trappolier card , a variant of the Italian-Spanish card .

The origin of the Trappola game lies in Venice in the 16th century. Gerolamo Cardano describes the game in his book Liber de Ludo Aleae in the form that was used around 1530 in Sacco, a small town near Padua . Trappola was widespread until the middle of the 20th century, especially in Silesia , which is why the Trappola cards are also called Silesian playing cards , from the king - Italian Re - became "the deer ". The last Trappola cards were produced in Prague in 1944 and will be reprinted as facsimiles .

The following description is based essentially on the rule book of the Piatnik Vienna company by Robert Kissel.

The rules

The cards

The Trappola or Bulka game consists of 36 cards in the four colors

baštony Suit Bastoni.svg (sticks), špády Suit Spade.svg (swords), kopy Suit Coppe.svg (chalices) and denáry Suit Denari.svg (coins or flowers).

There are nine cards in each suit: ace (high), king, knight (shown as a rider), jack, ten, nine, eight, seven and two.

Of course, Trappola can also be played with a French card shortened to 36 hands .

The Bulka

A cup - the so-called Bulka - is placed in the middle of the table and serves as a cash register for the players' bets. If a player succeeds in winning three consecutive games, he receives the contents of the bulk .

Preparations

Before the start of a game, each player draws a card to establish a ranking: the player with the highest card is player # 1, the one with the second highest card is player # 2, etc.

Only two people are actively involved in the actual game . Which players meet and when follows the principle of a chouette : In the first round, player no. 1 meets player no. 2, his challenger . The loser of this round joins at the end of the ranking, the winner remains or becomes player no. 1 in the next round, the other players move up accordingly. In the next round it becomes no. 1 again, i.e. H. the winner of the last round, of No. 2, d. H. No. 3 of the last round, challenged, etc.

Exception : If a player Bulka wins, so must he again queuing at the end.

The goal

The aim of the game is to score more points than your opponent by reporting and collecting tricks .

The sharing

Before the start of a round, the two active players each pay ten tokens into the bulk . The respective challenger, i.e. the new player, shuffles, lets cut and shares the cards. Both players are dealt nine cards in three throws of three hands each. The remaining 18 cards are put aside face down.

The reporting

After sharing, reporting follows. If a player holds one of the following card combinations, he can announce it and receives points and payments from his opponent as follows.

  • Three identical picture cards (three kings, three knights or three jacks) are worth six points, and the player receives five tokens from his opponent.
  • Four identical picture cards are worth twelve points, and the player receives ten tokens from his opponent.
  • Three twos are worth ten points, and the player receives five tokens from his opponent.
  • Four twos are worth 20 points, and the player receives ten tokens from his opponent.
  • If a player does not have a single picture card, he reports “ blanš ” or “ carte blanche ” and receives ten points and five tokens from his opponent.

All of these combinations must be reported before the first card is played, otherwise no points will be credited or payments made. If a player has announced three of a kind, the opponent may ask for the color of the fourth card when playing the second trick.

Playing off

After reporting is complete, the challenger leads to the first trick. There are no trumps at Trappola . Color is compulsory, but it does not need to be engraved.

Additional Reports

If a player has three or four aces, he does not need to report them until he has played the first one. If he can hold all three or four aces in his tricks, he writes 30 or 40 points, but if he loses an ace, he writes only six or twelve points for his entry. If a player reports three aces, the opponent may not ask for the color of the fourth ace.

For the announcement of three or four aces, the player receives five or ten chips from his opponent, provided that he can hold the announced aces in his tricks.

If a player does not have a single face card ( blanš ) and also no ace, he can announce “ bianka ” and receives 20 points (instead of ten) and ten (instead of five) tokens from his opponent. Bianka does not have to be reported before the first lead, but only needs to be announced when the last card is played.

Points for stitches

After a game, each player counts the points in his tricks, and that applies

  • each ace six points
  • each king five points
  • each knight four points and
  • every jack three points.

The following bonuses are also credited for special stitches:

  • If a player wins the last three tricks with a two, he receives 78 points and the opponent has to pay 30 tokens into the bulk .
  • If a player wins the last two tricks with a twos, he receives 52 points and the opponent has to pay 20 tokens into the bulk .
  • If a player wins the last trick with a two, he receives 26 points and the opponent has to pay 10 tokens into the bulk .
  • If a player wins the last trick with another card, he receives 6 points.
  • If a player wins the first trick with a two, he receives 52 points and the opponent has to pay 20 tokens into the bulk .
  • If a player wins any other trick with a two, he receives 10 points for each such trick, and the opponent has to pay 5 tokens into the bulk .
  • If a player wins all the tricks, he receives a further bonus of 30 points, and the opponent has to pay 10 tokens into the bulk .

Billing

At the end of a round, both players add up their points. The player with the higher number of points becomes or remains player no.1 and meets the new challenger, the previous no.3, in the next round.

Per

If a player has won two games in a row, he reports this with the announcement “ Pro ” and pays an additional ten tokens into the cash register. In the game that follows, the player's opponents may consult with one another.

Alifer

By agreement, the following rule applies: If a player receives a very bad hand, he can suggest that a new division be made with the question “Alifer?”. If the opponent agrees, the player who shared gives again. However , the stake is doubled for each alifer, i.e. it is 20 tokens on the second deal, 40 tokens on the third, etc.

The game for two

If you play in pairs without a Bulka , only the points are added at the end of the game. There are no special payments for entries or tricks, the loser pays the winner the difference in points according to the key agreed before the start of the game.
