The publishing house was founded in 2001 in Hamburg-Harburg , and in 2002 the company moved to Hamburg . The publisher is independent and economically independent. The publisher was based in Magdeburg from 2016 to June 30, 2018. On July 1, 2018, the traveldiary Verlag was taken over by 360 ° medien, based in Mettmann.

With more than 100 authors, the publisher published almost as many travel books under the slogan “Discover your thirst for adventure”. In March 2012 the ReiseGeister-Guide "With Sherlock Holmes through London" was awarded the Blue Carbuncle as the best new publication by the German Sherlock Holmes Society .

A large part of the publisher's program is available in printed form as well as in various e-book formats (PDF, ePub, Kindle); in June 2014, the first travel audio books from the publisher's program were published in cooperation with ABOD Verlag.

The publisher's authors include globetrotters and travelers as well as journalists and authors, including a. Bernhard Hoëcker , Hans Kronberger , Nicole Quint, Michael Romahn , Hans-Wilm Schütte and John Sykes.
