action
Based on the basic principles of the German school, the two-hour film shows examples of German schools that use other methods to motivate students and at the same time show performance above the expected value in comparative tests. Among other things, the Lake Constance School St. Martin in Friedrichshafen , the Jenaplan School Jena , the Gymnasium Klosterschule in Hamburg are shown .
history
The film goes back to the initiative of Hans Konrad Koch, a department head in the Federal Ministry of Education . In an effort to introduce more all-day schools , a film should show that schools can be places to live. With the support of the Ministry, the basic idea of the Archive of the Future , founded by Reinhard Kahl in the mid-1990s, was realized.
More than 60,000 copies had been sold by the beginning of 2011.
An international edition of the film was published under the title Incubators of the future (English) and Les serres de l'avenir (French).
