The tremco illbruck Group is a building materials manufacturer with headquarters in Cologne . The Tremco illbruck Group GmbH acts as a holding company of several predominantly German and European production and distribution companies. The group is part of the American industrial group RPM International Inc .

Tremco illbruck manufactures products for the construction and processing industries for sealing, gluing and coating in the window, facade, interior and passive fire protection segments as well as for insulating glass production and structural glazing , including sealing tapes, foils, sealants , adhesives and coatings .

The group is one of the market leaders in the field of window sealing and also plays an important role in the segments of facade sealing, roof and surface coatings .

Tremco illbruck employs around 1100 people in Europe, Africa and the Middle East at locations in 18 countries.

history

Tremco illbruck emerged from the merger of the Tremco Europe Sealant / Waterproofing Division and illbruck Abdichtungssysteme .

Before 2005

The companies that later merged to form the tremco illbruck Group were originally located in Cleveland , Ohio (USA) or in Leverkusen . The Tremco Inc. , a manufacturer of sealants, weather protection and passive fire protection solutions, was founded in 1928 by William Treuhaft in Cleveland as a company for the production of roofing material and expanded in 1954 with a joint venture in the UK to Europe. The Illbruck GmbH , a manufacturer of sealing and acoustic systems and plumbing equipment, was established by Willi and Christiane Illbruck 1952 in Leverkusen.

Tremco Inc. was taken over in 1997 by RPM International Inc. , a global corporation, which in turn goes back to a company founded in 1947 by Frank Sullivan in Cleveland as Republic Powdered Metals Inc. for the production of protective coatings for construction and industry.

The illbruck sealing systems division was bought by RPM as illbruck Bau-Technik GmbH as part of a restructuring of the illbruck group in 2005 and integrated into the group as the Tremco illbruck group through a merger with the Tremco subsidiary Tremco Europe Sealant / Waterproofing Division . Illbruck brought the French, Polish, Czech and Belgian subsidiaries that still exist today into the group.

From 2005

Tremco illbruck International GmbH originally acted as the group's holding company . The tremco illbruck Group GmbH in its current form was founded in 2016.

In the years after the merger, the group expanded through start-ups and international acquisitions. The subsidiaries tremco illbruck Austria GmbH (trading subsidiary founded in 2006), Fema Farben und Putze GmbH Cologne (from the company Fema Farben und Putze GmbH Ettlingen, which was taken over in 2012 ) and tremco illbruck Co. Ltd. were created. (Korea, 2017). Other acquired companies ( Permaquik Corp. , Canada, 2006, Prosytec SAS , France, 2008, Karochemie AG , Switzerland, 2009, Park Diş Ticaret AS , Turkey, 2010, Firetherm Intumescent & Insulation Supplies Ltd. , Great Britain, 2015 and Adhere Industrial Tapes Ltd. , Great Britain, 2016) were integrated into the existing structure of the tremco illbruck Group.

In 2013 tremco illbruck grouped its 86 individual brands and product names under the four brands Tremco, illbruck, Nullifire and Pactan. In the course of this reorganization, the current company logo was also introduced.

Products from the tremco illbruck range have been a. Used in well-known buildings such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which was completed in 2010 and currently (2018) the tallest building in the world, and in the large concert hall of the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie , which opened in 2017 .

Products

The tremco illbruck Group manufactures products for sealing, gluing and coating that are offered under the brands illbruck, Tremco, Nullifire and Pactan.

Illbruck

The illbruck brand includes sealing and adhesive products for windows and facades as well as low-emission sealants for interior construction. In addition to pre-compressed sealing tapes , adhesives and sealants based on polyacrylate , polyurethane , silicone and hybrid polymers , foils and strips for window and facade connections as well as plastic molded parts for sealing when installing windows are offered.

Tremco

The Tremco brand includes products for floor, surface and roof sealing: screeds, leveling compounds, floor paints and coatings, adhesives for various floor coverings, paintable vapor barriers and waterproofing membranes. The brand also includes special sealants that are required in the manufacture of multi-pane insulating glass windows and in structural glazing.

Nullifire

Tremco illbruck manufactures products for passive fire protection under the Nullifire brand. These include fire protection coatings that slow down the heating of steel structures and thus their destabilization in the event of a fire, as well as fire-resistant joint seals, mortars and paints for fire sealing.

Pactan

The Pactan brand comprises products for the processing industry that have been developed and manufactured according to customer specifications. These include adhesives and sealants, agents for pretreating the adhesive surfaces in the adhesive process, as well as sealing tapes and insulating profiles that are used, among other things, in the production of vehicles and household appliances.
