Trevões is a municipality ( freguesia ) in the Portuguese district ( concelho ) of São João da Pesqueira . 538 inhabitants live in it (as of June 30, 2011).

history

Graves (including rock graves) prove a prehistoric settlement. From Roman times were u. a. Coins found. In the 13th century the place became an independent municipality.

Culture and sights

In addition to a number of mansions , fountains and sacred buildings , a bridge from Roman times is a listed building.

Local archaeological finds from pre-Roman and Roman times are also exhibited in the Museu de Trevões local history museum .
