Treviranus Medal
The Treviranus Medal was awarded by the Association of German Biologists and Bioscientific Societies (vdbiol - since 2007 "Association of Biology, Biosciences and Biomedicine in Germany VBIO eV") in memory of the Bremen doctor Gottfried Reinhold Treviranus (1776–1837), who coined the term " biology ". Between 1994 and 2013 they received high-ranking scientists who campaigned in a special way for the public image of the life sciences.
