Metal sulfides

The Tribotecc GmbH is an Austrian manufacturer of metal sulfides . As functional additives, they are used in brake linings and clutch linings as well as in lubricants, plastics, sintered metals , abrasives , batteries and other applications. Tribotecc claims that it has the largest capacities worldwide to produce special, application-specific metal sulfides.

history

The Tribotecc GmbH goes back to the Bleiberger Bergwerks Union AG, founded in 1867 , which had its headquarters in Bleiberg in Carinthia and which had an extensive industrial area in Arnoldstein near Villach . From 1926 to 1989 the operative areas of the Bleiberger Bergwerk Union were spun off into several GmbHs, including BBU Chemie Ges.mbH (later Chemetall Ges.mbH), which were sold in the following years and which still form the basis of the Arnoldstein Industrial Park today. In 2004 Chemetall Ges.mbH was sold to Rockwood Specialties, Inc. In 2012 the name was changed from Chemetall Ges.mbH to Tribotecc GmbH. In 2015 Rockwood Specialties, Inc. was sold to Albemarle Corporation. Today's Tribotecc GmbH was acquired by Treibacher Industrie AG in 2016 . Even today, Tribotecc GmbH's production takes place in the Arnoldstein plant.

Stefan Greimel succeeded Christoph Herzeg, who was appointed municipal director of the city of Villach , as managing director in autumn 2019 .

Tribotecc GmbH is a subsidiary of Treibacher Industrie AG and Treibacher Industrieholding, both owned by the private foundations of the Schaschl families, the former managing directors of Wienerberger AG , and Rauch, the owner of Rauch fruit juices .
