Triglops is a genus of fish from the family of psychrolutidae (Psychrolutidae). The species of the genus occur close to the coast in the northern Pacific from Hokkaidō (Japan) over the Sea of Okhotsk , the Bering Sea , the Aleutian Islands , the coast of Alaska and to the US state of Washington . In addition, their range includes the coasts of the Arctic Ocean , Greenland , Iceland and the Atlantic coast of Northern Europe. They live to depths of over 1000 meters.
features
Triglops are elongated, slender fish with pointed mouths. They reach a length of 10 to 31 cm. The genus is characterized by oblique rows of small, fused scales below the sideline . The head and back are not always scaled. The upper spine of the gill cover is rounded or slightly curved.
