The listed Evangelical-Lutheran Trinity Church is in Vachdorf , a community in the Schmalkalden-Meiningen district of Thuringia . The parish Vachdorf belongs to the parish area Vachdorf in the parish of Meiningen the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .

history

A wooden church is mentioned as early as 930 , which was consecrated to Saint Ulrich . The present church was consecrated from 1631 to 1668 during the Reformation of the Holy Trinity.

The hall church has a rectangular nave and a choir tower , which z. T. dates from the 10th century. The choir tower has an eight - sided slate - covered pointed helmet , which is crowned by a tower ball . Three church bells hang in the tower.

The interior has on the north and west walls, z. Partly also on the south wall, two-story galleries and is covered with a coffered ceiling. The organ gallery is in the east. The organ was built around 1818 by Johann Caspar Holland from Schmiedefeld. The church furnishings include a pulpit altar , which was created around 1775.
