Trinity Ridge is a ridge on Heard Island in the southern Indian Ocean . It rises in an east-west orientation south of Long Ridge and west of Graham Ridge .
It is named after the Bark Trinity , which ran aground in a heavy storm near the Elephant Spit on October 17, 1880 and had a wreck . 29 survivors of the accident were rescued 452 days later on January 12, 1882 by the steam-powered corvette USS Marion .
