Adolf Tronier Funder (born December 12, 1888 in Spjellerup Sogn , Denmark , † October 20, 1964 in Denmark) was a Danish actor in domestic and German silent films.

Live and act

Funder went to school in Herlufsholm and appeared on stage for the first time in a prince role at the age of four. After high school, Funder made his debut at the theater in Aarhus at the age of 18 and attended the Royal Theater School in Copenhagen two years later. After a few years, Valdemar Psilander discovered the young artist and brought him to film in 1911, where Funder made his debut alongside Psilander and Asta Nielsen in Urban Gad's production The Black Dream . Over the next nine years, Tronier Funder shot film on film in Copenhagen with the leading directors from his homeland, including August Blom , Einar Zangenberg , George Schnéevoigt , Robert Dinesen and AW Sandberg, and appeared in front of the camera with a wide variety of characters: Funder was an adventurer at one time , Telegraph operator or writer, sometimes a professor, hotelier or police chief. He was occupied several times as a nobleman (baron, count, prince).

In 1920 Adolf Tronier Funder moved to Berlin, where he made his debut as Colonel de Tilly in the drama The Festival of the Black Tulip . In the same year he took on a supporting supporting role in each of the first two Karl May films The Devil Worshipers and On the Rubble of Paradise . Funder stayed in Germany until 1924, when he returned to Denmark without being able to continue his film work there. Instead, he returned to the theater (e.g. to Odense in the 1925/26 season). Eventually Funder turned his back on acting, changed careers and started working as a wholesaler in Copenhagen.
