Trosa is a municipality ( Swedish kommun ) in the Swedish province of Södermanland County and the historic province of Södermanland . The main town of the municipality is Trosa .
geography
The river Trosaån flows through the municipality and flows into the Baltic Sea in Trosa .
history
There is a lot of historical evidence in the community, mostly in the form of rune stones . Also known is a gold treasure from the time of the Great Migration , around 400 to 550 AD. It was excavated in the Tuna by 1774 and weighed 12 kg. Today the treasure can be viewed in the Historical Museum in Stockholm .
The municipality of Trosa was spun off from the municipality of Nyköping on January 1, 1992 .
Oddities
The nickname, but also the official motto of the municipality, is Världens ände ( end of the world ). Its origin, however, has not been clearly established.
