Trpimirović
The Trpimirović dynasty , also known as Trpimirović , was a Croatian ruling dynasty that ruled Croatia (with brief interruptions) from 845 to 1091 in the Middle Ages .
The founder and namesake of the dynasty was Trpimir I. The most important rulers of the dynasty were the first king of Croatia Tomislav (925), as well as the kings Petar Krešimir IV and Dmitar Zvonimir .
In Croatian historiography it is also referred to as narodna dinastija (national dynasty), in contrast to the period from 1102 to 1918, when Croatia was in personal union with Hungary .
The memory of this dynasty played an important role in creating Croatian national consciousness in the 19th and 20th centuries .
