True Story ( German  true story ) is an American short film by Robert Frank from 2004 ( the film was revised in 2008 ). In Germany, the film premiered on May 5, 2009 at the International Short Film Festival in Oberhausen .

Robert Frank autobiographically remembers the past as well as the present as an off-speaker about film excerpts from earlier works and photographs at his homes in New York and Nova Scotia ( Canada ). The central theme is the death of his children Andrea and Pablo, but also the art of his wife June Leaf.
