Trugberg
First ascent July 13, 1871 by Emil Burckhardt , Peter Egger and Peter Schlegel

The Trugberg , pronounced Trubberg , is 3932.9  m above sea level. M. high mountain in the Bernese Alps . It is located above Konkordiaplatz . To the west of the Trugberg lies the Jungfraufirn and to the east the Ewigschneefeld , both of which feed the Aletsch Glacier with ice. The monk is located north-west of the Trugberg .

The name of the mountain is said to come from an expedition carried out by Pierre Jean Édouard Desor and Louis Agassiz in 1841 . Desor is said to have confused the mountain with the virgin , whereupon he named the mountain Trugberg after this deception .

The Trugberg was first climbed on July 13, 1871 by the Basel mountaineer Emil Burckhardt and the two Grindelwalders Peter Egger and Peter Schlegel. The three chose the route over the eastern flank of the mountain.
