Truppach (noble family)
The von Truppach family is an old Frankish noble family .
history
The von Truppach family was first recorded in 1059 (as de Trubaha ). They are regarded as followers of the Walpoten and later form a lower aristocratic class of imperial free ministerials . The eponymous place Truppach is now incorporated into Mistelgau and is located in the Bayreuth district in Upper Franconia . In the land book of the Office of Bayreuth of 1499 two noble seats are named for the small town Truppach: One belongs to the family of Aufseß , the other the family of Truppach proven since 1380. The latter is a little later abandoned and Klaus von Truppach moves to Alladorf . The family dies out in 1550.
The second aristocratic residence was destroyed by the Swabian Federation's punitive expedition in 1523 (see also Wandereisen woodcuts from 1523 ). The Aufseßer had supported the notorious Thomas von Absberg . As early as 1524, Wolf Heinrich von Aufseß began building a moated castle , which has been preserved to this day in a modified form, the defensive character with a moat and outer wall was lost. The castle is a square building with two floors. At the corners, bay-like turrets protrude over the roof.
Ursula von Truppach was the penultimate abbess of the Schlüsselau monastery during the Peasants' War.
The von Truppach family is part of the imperial knighthood and is organized in the knight canton of Gebürg .
coat of arms
With Siebmacher the shield is divided by a tooth cut, at the top split by a tooth cut of silver and red, each with a rose in confused colors; below in blue a red rose. The flight repeats the colors alternately, with two roses in the upper part of the flight and a rose between the wings.
The coat of arms of the immediately neighboring von Mengersdorf family is largely identical to that of the Truppach family - this usually indicates a common descent of both families. The village of Mengersdorf now also belongs to the Mistelgau community .
