Trymalium is a genus from the family of the Buckthorn family (Rhamnaceae). It is native to Australia and comprises 14 species.

description

Trymalium are evergreen, mostly unreinforced shrubs . The alternately arranged leaves are flat or curled at their edge.

The stalked flowers are in grape-shaped cymes or narrow panicles . A flower cup is missing or is only very short, the disc is ring-shaped or is clearly lobed. The fruits are decay fruits and often disintegrate irregularly into partial fruits , which may or may not open.

Distribution and systematics

Trymalium are native to Western Australia . The genus was first described by Eduard Fenzl in 1837 , within the buckthorn family it is classified in the tribus Pomaderreae . The genus includes 14 species.
