The Chornaya ( Russian Чёрная ("Black River")) is a left tributary of the Shilka in the Transbaikalia region in the Asian part of Russia .

The Chornaya arises near Sbega at the confluence of its two source rivers Chorny Urjum ("Black Urjum", left) and Bely Urjum ("White Urjum", right). The M58 trunk road crosses the river shortly afterwards. The Tschornaja flows in a predominantly south-south-east direction and flows after 76 km on the left into the Shilka, the left source river of the Amur, which flows north-east . The Tschornaja drains an area of ​​12,100 km². The annual runoff is 1.54 km³.
