Tshepo Tshite (born January 5, 1997 in the municipality of Rustenburg ) is a South African athlete who specializes in the 800-meter run .
Athletic career
Tshepo Tshite consisting of a village in the municipality Rustenburg Province Northwest native, grew up under difficult conditions. He had only one sister as a caregiver after both parents died prematurely. He came into contact with professional training conditions late after a talent scout from the Nedbank Running Club was looking for young talent in the rural regions of South Africa. So Tshite was discovered and followed the call to Klerksdorp , where he became part of the running club. After only a few weeks he took part in the first competitions over 800 meters. Within two months he improved his time by almost five seconds to 1: 47.11 minutes. In February 2018 he won the 800 and 1500 meter championships in southern Africa. A month later he won the national championships for the first time with a new personal best of 1: 46.04 min.
In March 2019 he ran a personal best of 1: 44.69 min over 800 meters. Throughout the summer he took part in competitions on the European continent, but couldn't get close to the time from March. In August Tshepo Tshite took part in the Africa Games in Rabat. He moved into the semi-finals, in which he was eliminated in 1: 49.17 minutes in sixth. Overall, he ended up in 12th place. A month later he took part in the World Championships in Doha. There, too, he moved into the semi-finals, in which he ran three seconds faster than in comparison to the African Games. Nevertheless, it was not enough to make it into the finals and in the end the 15th place was to book. In 2020 he took part in competitions in the hall for the first time. He started in France and Germany. In February he ran the best indoor performance of 1: 47.52 minutes in Düsseldorf.
