Tsumkwe is a constituency in the Otjozondjupa region in central northeast Namibia . The administrative seat is the settlement of the same name Tsumkwe . The district covers an area of 28,590 square kilometers and has 9907 inhabitants (as of 2011) and thus a population density of only 0.3 inhabitants per km².
The constituency has 17 schools and the border crossing to Botswana of the same name .
The most important branch of the economy is agriculture , with around 30 percent of the population dependent on cattle breeding , the rest on crops . The tourism , especially in the Nyae Nyae -Kommunalschutzgebiet, plays an important role.
