Tsumkwe is a settlement with around 500 inhabitants (as of 2011) in the Otjozondjupa region in Namibia .

Tsumkwe is the administrative seat of the constituency of the same name (almost identical to the former homeland Buschmannland ). The entire district has around 8,800 inhabitants (including 2,400 San ) and an area of ​​around 13,200 square kilometers. The constituency area is for the most part not well developed compared to the infrastructure in the rest of Namibia.

The place is about 60 kilometers west of the border with Botswana and 200 kilometers east of Grootfontein and is considered, among other things, as the southern gateway to the Khaudum National Park . There are all basic services and a connection to the main road C44 .
