Bushmannland ( English Bushmanland ) is the historical name for a in today Namibian region Otjozondjupa located Homeland . It was set up primarily for the San ( Bushmen ) in 1970 as part of the South African homeland strategy . The largest settlement is Tsumkwe on the edge of the Kalahari .
The Bushmanland has been used for tourism since the 1980s. The traditional culture of the San, who are predominantly resident in Tsumkwe, has been increasingly lost not only since Namibia's independence .
