Renato Micheroli (born November 18, 1969 in Glarus ) is a Swiss football player , coach and official.

Career

His grandparents immigrated to the Glarnerland from Chiavenna in northern Italy in 1917 .

He only started playing football at FC Glarus when he was twelve . In the meantime he also played for FC Zug and FC Zurich . As a young player he belonged to the NLB team of FC Glarus, which played in the second highest soccer league in Switzerland in 1988. In the 90s he was one of the regular players in the first division team of FC Glarus. He played most of his career with the number 7 shirt.

In 2002 he took over the presidency of FC Glarus. He held this office until September 2014 . Because of his services to FC Glarus, he received honorary membership. In 2009 he took over his son's F-Junior team as a coach. He accompanied this team until summer 2019 (up to the B-Juniors). In the summer of 2019 , his son switched to the first team of FC Glaus (3rd division) as a goalkeeper. Renato Micheroli remained the B-Junior coach of the Coca-Cola Junior League team at FC Glarus.

Professionally, Renato Micheroli is the branch manager of a major bank in Glarus with the rank of Executive Director.
