The Tus Finkenwerder (officially: Turn- und Sportverein Finkenwerder from 1893 eV ) is a sports club from the Hamburg district of Finkenwerder . The club owns divisions for soccer , boxing , handball , athletics , swimming , table tennis , tennis and volleyball .
Club history
The two main clubs of TuS Finkenwerder were MTV Finkenwärder, founded in 1893, and the boxing club Ajax Finkenwärder , founded in 1924 , which was renamed Finkenwärder SV in 1925 . On October 7, 1945, MTV Finkenwärder and Finkenwärder SV merged to form TuS Finkenwerder 1893 . The spelling of Finkenwärder was changed to Finkenwerder in 1937 .
Football department
TuS Finkenwerder was one of the 13 founding members of the Hamburg City League in January 1946 and finished 11th, which meant relegation to the second division for the 1946/47 season. In the seasons 1947/48 and 1968/69, the club played for one year in the highest Hamburg amateur class , otherwise it was played under-class. For the 2012/13 season he was promoted to the regional league , which was followed by immediate relegation to the district league.
