Tubac is a census-designated place in Santa Cruz County in the US state of Arizona . Tubac has 1191 inhabitants (as of 2010) on an area of 21.2 km². The village is affected by Interstate 19 and lies on the Santa Cruz River .
history
Tubac was founded in 1752 as the Spanish fortress Presidio San Ignacio de Tubac. The village was the first colonial garrison in present-day Arizona.
In 1996, the comedy film Tin Cup was filmed at Tubac Golf Resort .
