Tuburan is a Philippine municipality in the province of Basilan .
In 2006, Akbar I. and Hadji Mohammad Ajul were newly established in the area of the Tuburan municipality . This reduced the number of barangays from 30 to ten. Tuburan has 20,207 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census).
