Tullibody ( Scottish Gaelic Tulach Bòide ) is a small town in the Scottish Council Area Clackmannanshire . It is located in the Central Lowlands about three kilometers northwest of Alloa and six kilometers east-northeast of Stirling . In 2011 Tullibody had 8809 inhabitants.
The old settlement of Tullibody grew into a town in the course of industrialization in the 19th century. There have been two whiskey distilleries in Tullibody throughout history . The Cambus distillery , founded in 1813, produced grain whiskey and was shut down in 1993. With it the Devon Bridge was built . Between 1957 and 1980 the Strathmore distillery (also known as North of Scotland ) also produced grain whiskey here. The buildings have been partially demolished.
