Tung Chee-hwa
Tung Chee-hwa GBM ( Chinese 董建華 / 董建华 , Pinyin Dǒng Jiànhuá , Jyutping Dung 2 Gin 3 waa 4 ; born July 7, 1937 in Shanghai ) is a Chinese businessman and politician. He was the first chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region . He was appointed to this post after the city was handed over in 1997. In March 2005 he resigned after persistent popular protests against the Hong Kong policy of the PR China, and was succeeded by Donald Tsang .
In July 2017, Tung Chee Hwa sold the Orient Overseas Container Line (OOCL) for 5.5 billion euros . The sale creates a new container shipping company with 400 ocean ships and 1,300,000 standard containers.
