The approximately 700 year old and 57 meter long tunnel of San Adrián ( Spanish Túnel de San Adrián ) is located on the 23 kilometer stretch between Segura and Salvatierra in the province of Álava in Spain .

The tunnel and the road of San Adrián are the most important points of the old Camino Real (Royal Route) and today one of the most famous hiking trails in the region. The tunnel is the extension of a natural rock opening on the pass between Aizkorri and Aratz. The entrance is at an altitude of 1000 meters.

The 11th century road saw heavy traffic in the 13th century when Segura (in the province of Guipúzcoa ) was under the Castilian crown and San Adrián and the Oria Valley formed the main route between Castile and the other European kingdoms. At that time, a chapel, a wall and an inn were built in the tunnel. The lower entrance has been enlarged to make passage easier. The Gothic arch at the entrance served as a customs post. The entire complex was guarded by guards.
