The Turret Cone (English for turret cone ) is an approximately 445 m high hill in the west of the Antarctic Ross Island . It rises 6.1 km east of Cape Royds and 5 km northeast of Cape Barne .
The Australian geologist Thomas Griffith Taylor (1880-1963), participant in the Terra Nova Expedition (1910-1913) of the British polar explorer Robert Falcon Scott , gave it its descriptive name.
