The Tuulijoki ( Russian Тула Tula , Лужма, Туулийоки ) is a river in the Russian Republic of Karelia and in the Finnish countryside of North Karelia .

The 16 km long river forms the outflow of Lake Tulos ( Tuulijärvi in Finnish ). After about 10 km he passes the Russian- Finnish border. It then flows through Lake Heinäjärvi and flows into Lake Polvijärvi through which Lieksanjoki flows . In Finland, it forms the western border of the Ruunaa recreation area.
