Tuva Norbye (born August 26, 1996 in Oslo ) is a Norwegian ski racer . She starts for the Heming IL and has her strengths in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom . Her younger sister Kaja is also active as a ski racer.

biography

After reaching the age limit, Norbye started at FIS races in her home country from December 2011 , quickly established himself in the front field and celebrated her first victory on February 8, 2012 in a giant slalom in Hakadal. In the following winter, she was regularly among the leaders, celebrated a total of four victories in FIS races, became Norwegian junior downhill champion and competed at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Brașov in February 2013 , where she was fourth in slalom with a medal narrowly missed. At the end of the season she won bronze in the super combined at the Norwegian championships .

From the 2013/14 season it was regularly used in the European Cup and on December 17, 2013, as the 26th downhill in St. Moritz, it won the first points in this racing series. In February 2014 she also became Norwegian junior champion in the super combined and started almost a month later at the Junior World Championship in Jasná , where she achieved 14th place as the best result in the super combined. In 2014/15 she achieved the best result so far in the European Cup on January 29, 2015 with 10th place in the Alpine Combined in Hinterstoder . In March she was part of the Norwegian squad for the Junior World Championships in Hafjell and was the Norwegian runner-up in slalom at the end of the winter.

Norbye has been studying at the University of Denver since 2015 and therefore mainly competes in the Nor-Am Cup . On November 24, 2015, she immediately achieved her first podium finish in this racing series with third place in the Jackson slalom .
