Tuy Hòa is a city in Phú Yên Province in Vietnam . It is located on the coast of the South China Sea near the mouth of the Da RĐng . In the 2009 census, the population of the city center was 122,838 (1999 census: 65,734). The city forms the administrative seat of the province of Phú Yên. The city has the status of a provincial city of the 2nd class.
economy
The city is an agricultural center and an important fishing port. It is the center of a fertile, densely populated lowland where sugar cane , cotton and rice are grown.
Infrastructure
In 1936 the city was connected to Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City ) and Hanoi with the completion of the coastal railway line. It is also served by the National Coastal Highway and has a hospital and commercial airport, Dong Tac Airport . Today's airport is based on a former American air force base.
Attractions
On Mount Nhạn behind the city there is an old Champa temple. From there you have a good overview of the city.
