Twisted Metal: Head On is a battle-oriented racing game developed by Incognito Entertainment and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, initially for the PlayStation Portable and later for the PlayStation 2 . It was released in North America in March 2005 and in Europe towards the end of the same year. The implementation for the PlayStation 2 appeared in 2008.

Gameplay

General

Twisted Metal: Head On builds on the successful concept of its predecessors, which mix elements of racing games with those of third-person shooters . The player controls a vehicle in a cordoned-off area, which is armed by default with machine guns with infinite ammunition. On the fighting area, he competes against up to eight also armed vehicles and tries to destroy them.

Race course

Before the start of the race, the participating vehicles are placed at any starting position on a cordoned-off area at a certain minimum distance from one another. After the start, the vehicles can drive through the racing area without restrictions and hunt down their opponents. For this purpose, permanently mounted machine guns with unlimited ammunition are available to all vehicles. However, since these do little damage to enemy vehicles, drivers are dependent on finding stronger weapons against the enemy. These are distributed in different places along the route and can be picked up by any driver. Additional weapons include a. Grenades, napalm and missiles. It is the same with repair kits that help remove these damage. Each vehicle also has an individual weapon, the stock of which regenerates automatically over time.
