The Tyers River is a river in Gippsland in the Australian state of Victoria .
It rises below Talbot Peak in Baw-Baw National Park at an altitude of 1240 m . Shortly thereafter, the Tyers River East Branch and the Tyers River West Branch flow . The Tyers River East Branch is 6.1 km long and rises at the settlement Amor at an altitude of 551 m and flows into the Tyers River at Tyers Junction at an altitude of 271 m. The approximately 20 km long Tyers River West Branch rises on the slopes of Mount Mueller (also on the Baw-Baw Plateau) at an altitude of 1130 m and also flows into the Tyers River at Tyers Junction at 242 m.
The Tyers River flows south and flows into the Latrobe River after 57 km south of Tyers .
On its way it flows through the Moondarra Reservoir , a reservoir, and takes in Jacobs Creek coming from the north.
At the influence in the Moondarra Reserve, the small town of Moondarra lies near the eastern river bank. The small town of Tyers is already in the Latrobe Valley , just before it flows into the Latrobe River, near the western bank of the river.
