Tylecodon schaeferianus is a species of the genus Tylecodon in the family of thick-leaf plants (Crassulaceae).
description
Tylecodon schaeferianus grows as a very small and much branched, spreading plant with several intersecting shoots and thus forms small cushions. The shoots arise from a gray tuber with a flaky bark that can be up to 10 centimeters in diameter. The spreading and ascending shoots sometimes form aerial roots and are 2 to 5 millimeters in diameter. The irregular gray-brown bark looks gnarled due to the isolated phyllopodia. The obovate and elliptical to circular leaves are 5 to 15 millimeters long and 6 to 12 millimeters thick. They are a little compressed dorsiventrally and at the blunt tip they have a reddish, patched point.
The inflorescence consists of up to 2.5 centimeters high thyrsen , which carry one or two monochasia , on which the one or two upright single flowers are. The flower stalk is up to 1 centimeter long. The pink or white, bald and tubular corolla is 7 to 10 millimeters long and 4 millimeters wide. The extended to recurved tips are 4 millimeters long.
