Tyndall Center for Climate Change Research
The Tyndall Center for Climate Change Research is a university research network for climate research founded in 2000 . The center, named after the physicist John Tyndall , has an interdisciplinary orientation that encompasses the collaboration of natural, economic and social scientists. The aim of the Tyndall Center is research and communication on global warming , as well as influencing national and international climate policy .
Partners of the consortium are the British universities University of East Anglia , University of Cambridge , Cardiff University , University of Manchester , Newcastle University , University of Oxford , University of Southampton and the University of Sussex , as well as Fudan University ( Shanghai , People's Republic of China ) .
The founding director was Mike Hulme from 2000 to 2007, supported by Hans Joachim Schellnhuber as research director from 2001 to 2005 . From 2007 to 2008 Andrew Watkinson directed the Tyndall Center, followed by Kevin Anderson . The Tyndall Center has been headed by Corinne Le Quéré since 2011 .
