The Neue Donau station is an above-ground underground station on the Vienna underground line U6 opened on May 4, 1996 in the 21st district of Floridsdorf . It is named after the New Danube relief channel, which was created between 1972 and 1988 as flood protection .

The station building extends parallel to the main line of the S-Bahn over the Danube bank motorway between Hubertusdamm and Rollerdamm. Exits lead directly to the pedestrian walkway under the Georg-Danzer-Steg . The station has side platforms, from which fixed stairs and elevators lead to the reception building located under the subway structure. In addition to line 20A, you can change to the bathing bus 20B during the summer season, which serves the public baths along the Old Danube . The station has the highest passenger frequency every year during the Danube Island Festival : On this occasion, a steward service from employees of Wiener Linien and the police ensures that passengers are changed quickly for security reasons. Until September 2000, the S-Bahn station Strandbäder was west of the station, but there was no direct transfer to the U6.

In the immediate vicinity of the station, the Islamic Center Vienna has been located since 1979 , the first Islamic place of worship to be recognizable as a mosque in Austria.
