The U-Bahn station Nürnberger Platz was an underground station of the former Wilmersdorf-Dahlemer subway, now known as the U3 line of the Berlin U-Bahn , in today's Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf district . It was located below the eponymous place on the border between today's districts of Wilmersdorf and Charlottenburg . At the time of commissioning on October 12, 1913, the station was located between the Wittenbergplatz and Hohenzollernplatz underground stations .

The station was planned by Alfred Grenander based on the model of the other stations of the elevated railway company . The stop, designed as a tunnel station with a central platform , resembled the Uhlandstraße underground station and, like this, rested on steel central supports. The elliptically tiled station fields and billboards were outlined in green.

The northern Charlottenburg entrance was designed with simple steel supports in accordance with the requirements of the elevated railway company, while the southern Wilmersdorf entrance was decorated with ornate stone pylons and a stone fence, modeled on the other Wilmersdorf underground stations by Wilhelm Leitgebel . At the end of the 1920s, however, this access was replaced by a simple iron portal.

Despite considerable destruction in World War II , the underground station was first rebuilt before it was closed and demolished on June 1, 1959. The reason for this was the new construction of the Spichernstrasse underground station as an intersection of the A II and B II lines as well as the new G line . The Augsburger Straße underground station was opened in 1961 to replace the Nürnberger Platz underground station . Today, on the site of the former underground station, the Spichernstrasse station is located.
