UFC 232: Jones vs. Gustafsson 2 was a mixed martial arts event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). It took place on December 29, 2018 at The Forum in Inglewood, California, United States and was broadcast as pay-per-view .
background
The main fight is a match between Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson for the light heavyweight title. The reigning title holder Daniel Cormier gave up his claim to the title and is only title holder in the heavyweight division. Jones and Gustafsson fought for the light heavyweight title at the UFC 165 event in 2013 , when Jones went into the fight as the title holder and was able to defend the title with a win. On December 11, 2018, Jones received a license from the UFC to fight Gustafsson, after Jones had not fought since a doping incident in July 2017.
At UFC 232 there was a second title fight with the fight between Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes . At stake was the women's flyweight title, which until then had been held by Cris Cyborg. Nunes herself was the bantamweight title holder at that time and now managed to win the title in the higher weight class against Cyborg. She is after Conor McGregor and Daniel Cormier and the first female fighter to hold two titles in different weight classes.
