The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) is a state university in Greensboro in the US state of North Carolina . The college was originally founded in 1891 as an educational institution for women, became a women's university in the 1930s and remained so until 1963. Even today, around two thirds of the students are female. There are currently 16,060 students enrolled.

The university is part of the state University of North Carolina and is best known for its research and teaching in nursing and education.
