The UTY series OʻZ-Y of the Uzbekistan Railroad (UTY) is a six-axle express locomotive for railways electrified with alternating current . The locomotive was developed by the Zhuzhou electric locomotive plant in cooperation with Siemens Mobility . The name of the locomotive means freight passenger locomotive of the first series from Oʻzbekiston . This is reflected in the first two letters, the letter Y denotes the operating application Y oʻlovchi (passenger train).

history

The first electric locomotive for the Uzbekistan railroad was developed by Siemens Mobility and created by the Zhuzhou electric locomotive plant. The locomotive has performed well so far.

The design of the series goes back to the Euro Sprinter , the Chinese HXD1 and the KTZ series KZ4A . In 2008, the Uzbek Railways announced the purchase of 15 units of a renewed series of electric locomotives for mixed service needs at the Tashkent , Navoi and Samarqand stations .

Technical parameters

Externally, the OʻZ-Y series locomotive is similar to the KTZ KZ4A series, which was also created by the Zhuzhou electric locomotive works. The distinguishing features of the OʻZ-Y electric locomotive from its predecessor are:

  • The vehicle part of the locomotive consists of two three-axle bogies, which are supported with the locomotive body via Flexicoil coil springs .
  • they have more accurate computer systems for distributing the load, which largely excludes the risk of the first axis skidding.
  • Introduction of a new 32-bit operation system called Sibas .

The locomotive body is designed with a load-bearing frame in welded construction. The power and traction equipment consists of electric drive motors from Siemens Mobility, except for the assembled diagnostic systems. The components are arranged in such a way that there is a wide corridor in the locomotive body with an emergency exit from the roof. The assembly of the assemblies and units in the box is carried out using the block design with a wide central corridor. From Russian production, the KLUB-U and train radio systems with the designation РВ-1МЦ were used.
