Ubuntu Studio is a Linux distribution based on Ubuntu that is specially designed for the requirements of audio, graphics and video editing.

JACK is used as the sound server , and it has its own graphic configuration program called Ubuntu Studio Controls. In addition, various multimedia programs belong to the scope, such as the video processing OpenShot , the audio sequencer Rosegarden , the audio editor Ardor , the 3D graphics software Blender , the raster graphics program GIMP or the DTP program Scribus .

The first stable version was released on May 10, 2007 and was based on Ubuntu 7.04. Ubuntu Studio is listed as a recognized derivative on the Ubuntu website.
