Uchinomi ( Japanese 内海 町 , - chō ) was a city in Shōzu-gun in the Japanese prefecture of Kagawa on the island of Shōdoshima in the Japanese Inland Sea .

history

Uchinomi was created on April 1, 1951 through the merger of the Chō Kusakabe ( 草 壁 町 , -chō ) with the Mura or Son Nishi ( 西村 , -mura ), Nōma ( 苗 羽 村 , -son ), Sakate ( 坂 手 村 , -mura ) and Yasuda ( 安 田村 , -mura ) in the Shōzu-gun. On March 31, 1957, Son Fukuda ( 福田 村 , -son ) was incorporated.

On March 21, 2006 Uchinomi was merged with Ikeda to form the new Chō Shōdoshima ( 小豆 島 町 , -chō ).
