Uganda Airlines is a Ugandan airline that existed between 1977 and 2001 and was re-established in 2018.

There were plans to reissue the company as early as 2012, and in 2018 an initial down payment of 1.2 million US dollars was made for the purchase of six new aircraft from Airbus and Bombardier Aerospace . The operating license was issued on July 26, 2019. The first flight took place on August 27, 2019 with a Bombardier CRJ-900 and led from Entebbe to Nairobi.

Destinations

Flight operations were originally scheduled to begin in 2018, then in July 2019 and finally in August 2019. This will initially start regionally and also include intercontinental routes from 2022. Bombardier CRJ900s are to be used for the regional destinations , while the Airbus A330s ordered , which are scheduled to be delivered from 2022, are intended for international air traffic.

Since August 2019, Entebbe has served seven destinations in East Africa, including Nairobi ( Kenya ), Dar es Salaam ( Tanzania ) and Mogadishu ( Somalia ).
